Choosing to Ignore...

June 20, 2011

Ecclesiastes 11:1-10

V 10 Remove vexation from your heart…

The definition of vexation is basically to be annoyed. So God’s word is telling us to remove annoyances from our hearts. That’s a tall order because that causes us to do a couple of things. It either calls us to keep our mouths shut when we really want to blast someone with what we are thinking; even when what we are thinking is correct it may be given in a wrong heart attitude or will just basically not accomplish anything of value. Secondly it may cause us to speak up when our normal inclination would be to be quiet; sometimes we have to speak up about things that are wrong especially about things pertaining to God and His word. Most importantly choosing to let the annoyances in our lives go cause us to realize once again that God is in control!
