The
Lord is on my side; I will not fear, what can man do to me? Psalm 118:6
We
worry a lot about things going wrong? Sometimes we might agonize over who may
or may not win a public office. We may worry sometimes over the state of our
nation. For certain all of those things are and should be important to us. We
do live here. We do raise our children here. We need to be aware of what is
going on around us. However, we don’t have to worry about it. We don’t have to
live in a constant state of fear. A fear that will steal our joy; that sort of
fear is unnecessary and in fact wrong. As I read God’s word, there are stories
after stories that tell us how God saved or rescued His children from certain
death or harmful situation. That may not mean everything was roses but it did
mean that God was on their side.
