5:9 lest you give your honor to others and your years to the merciless
Days
pass by so quickly. The speed in which time travels will just take your breath
away sometimes. I look at my children and I cry because in just a few short years
they will no longer by “mine” in the sense that they will live with me depend
on me. Since time does fly by it’s easy to see how we can lose it. How in its
expediency we fail to grasp onto it and use it effectively. If we, as belivers
especially, aren’t deliberate in what we do with our time we might squander it
on something that doesn’t matter. We can give away the minutes and the hours
that should belong to the things of God to the world. Also, our lives are
fleeting. We are NOT promised tomorrow; if we put things off till then we may
never get to do them. If we say we will teach our children the things of God
tomorrow and we die today what good is tomorrow. Today and what we do with it
is really all that counts.
