John 1:7
v
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin
Having
fellowship? What’s that mean really? Fellowship is defined as, “friendly
relationship; companionship; communion…” Having companionship with God the
Father is possible when we fellowship with him. When we choose to turn away
from sin and walk in the light of Him. True we are and will always be, till resurrection,
sinful but we can choose to fight it, and thankfully we have His strength in
which to fight or we would be lost with just our own. We, when empowered with
His power, can choose to not sin, when what our flesh really wants is to sin. I
think the fact that we can have fellowship with God is an amazing thing. When you
think of who God is, and who we are; it’s pretty incredible that it’s possible.
Maybe I will do a word study on “fellowship” to see what God has to say on the
topic!
