Peter 3:3-4 Do not let your adorning be external the braiding of hair, the
wearing of gold, or the putting on of clothing but let your adorning be the
hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and a quiet
spirit which in God’s sight is very precious
If
all we have are pretty faces then perhaps we need to examine ourselves a bit
more closely. We should be so much more than that. We should care about so much
more than what we have on and what we look like. Not that those are not
important things because I believe that they are. I believe that we, as women,
are called to look like women; it’s ok to be pretty and to like pretty things,
to embrace our feminine side. However, it can’t be everything to you; it can’t
define who you are. Like in all aspects of our lives God must control us; His
ways should be our ways. This of course is hard, for some more than others. The
balancing of a godly heart with a love for our feminine natures; the bottom
line here is if something besides the Spirit of God controls us, that is sin
and that is wrong.
