1 John 2:15
V 15 Do not love
the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of
the Father is not in him
If asked this
question I’m satisfied that the majority of “Christians” would say that they
absolutely did not love the things of this world. But really that’s a lie,
right…I mean we all do. We all want things; we want better cars or bigger
houses or great outfits. We do and what’s more important we know it, even if we
never admit it. Instead of denying what we know to be true, we should be trying
to minimize the love. We should be always watchful that our love for the world
never exceeds our love for the things of God. That we never allow anything to
take precedence over God’s Will for our lives. We need to live lives that show
others it is possible to not allow our love for the world to control us because
it will, if we allow it. Take a look at what takes up the majority of your
time, look at what you talk to your children about this will show you where
your love is. Like Paul urged us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the
faith; we must examine ourselves to see if our love for the world is out of
control.
