Psalm
98:4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous
song and sing praise
How
can one be un-joyful while praising God? I mean truly praising…the hands lifted
high, eyes to God praising; not that fake praise that we do when we know others
are looking and we really had rather be doing something else. We can deny that
we ever think that during church services but we know we do. The praising that
causes us to weep either on the inside or outwardly because we realize all that
God does for us daily. We know He is worthy. We know that He even deserves our praise
for everything He does and gives to us when we don’t feel like giving it. Maybe
it’s in those times that we give praise despite what we “feel like” that we
experience the most joy. I didn’t notice that this verse said we could only praise
in church on Sunday while listening as the praise team sings? Did you? Nope, so
that being said, one would assume that it’s ok to praise God anytime and
anyplace thereby bringing to us joy.
