Jeremiah
29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,” plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
It
doesn’t take us very long to figure out that life is hard. Unfortunately, for
some, that happens in childhood. Others are more sheltered in the homes of
their parents’ and really have no idea how hard life can become until much
later, but regardless of when you learn it, the fact remains that life is hard.
It’s easy to assume that perhaps God has forgotten us; that His inattention is
the reason for our troubles. We can become bitter so very easy in the struggles
of life. We know that God never forsakes those that are His. His Son did pay a
very high price for us and God would certainly not just forget about us. This
verse should stand as a reminder to us to be thankful that even in the
difficulties of this life God has plans for us. He has plans for us to do well.
He has plans for us to smile despite our circumstances because we can smile because
of Him. He has plans for us to hope in His word. His plans, though sometimes
difficult, are never meant to bring us harm…They are meant to grow us, and to
prosper us, make us hope in our future with Him.
Kirstie--Very well put and just what I needed to be reminded today. Thank you.
