Luke 2:6 And while they were there the time came for her to give birth

 

“The time”…God had the exact moment that His Son would be born down to a minute. God knew how, when and where He would be born. Mary was far enough along in her pregnancy that Joseph couldn’t leave her behind but not far enough along that she didn’t deliver on the way to Bethlehem. It had been prophesied that the Messiah would come out of Bethlehem. Bethlehem means “The City of Bread” and they were in fact a main producer of grain and bread. Jesus would grow to call Himself, “The Bread of Life”, how fitting that He would come from “The City of Bread”.
