Timothy 1:18 this charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance
with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the
good warfare
Now
granted Timothy had a big job ahead of him. He was being entrusted with the
church at Ephesus , which is big enough but
he was helping to start Christianity. This was so new and different in so many
aspects; no one had ever seen or heard of it before. It was up to Timothy to
tell others about it. Our jobs are a bit different; many have heard the name of
Christ, especially in this area where we live. Yet, isn’t it the same gospel
that we are entrusted with. Isn’t it the same Holy God that we are to tell
others about? Yes it is. To entrust means to “charge with responsibility”; we
are responsible with the gospel. We are responsible in how we handle it, how we
tell others about it, how we use it.
