John 3:22-36
V 34 For he whom God has sent utters words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure
These verses deal with John’s followers who were upset that Jesus might be growing more popular than him. This, of course, didn’t concern John because he always knew that “one was coming after him that was greater”. However, his followers didn’t agree. This disagreement leads John to get into this lengthy discussion on how qualified Jesus was. Verse 34 deals with Jesus and the fact that God gave Him the Holy Spirit. What I found interesting is that He got the Holy Spirit “without measure”. Meaning he got all of it. The same can be said of us; at salvation, we are given the Holy Spirit. To lead us and guide us; how often do we take advantage of this gift?
