Peter 4:14-16
v
16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him
glorify God in that name
Thinking
about suffering isn’t something we like to dwell on. It’s not fun. Just mentioning
the word causes shivers. Yet, here in His word God tells us that we have no
reason to fear suffering. We have reason to rejoice in it. Mainly because we
have salvation and this life we live here is but a vapor. That’s easy to say as
I sit here in the comfort of my home. Yet, the words are true even in the midst
of pain and trial. What our minds are fixed upon will be what leads us through
the valley. If our minds are on our pain and suffering, we may never leave the
valley but become mired down in it. If our minds are fixed upon God and His
goodness; we will still travel through the valley but He will lead us. He will
take care of us. We will get through it praising the one who took care of us.
