23:1 Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! Declares
the Lord
“To
whom much is given much will be expected…” to those that God gives the
responsibility to pastor His churches He expects great things from them. He
expects those shepherds to pour their lives into their flock. Is this an easy
thing? Oh, I’m absolutely sure that it is not. Yet, to those who are called to
this duty; a great help is given to them. They do not carry out their work
alone. It is also a work that they, pastors, are held to a high standard. If
they abuse the office…”Woe, to them…”. Personally I think that if God’s word
ever says the word “Woe” I don’t want to be guilty of whatever it’s referring to!
